Technology Committee Goals 2011-2012

  • A low-fidelity adult mannequin will be investigated for purchase.
  • A head wall for the Sim Man room will be investigated.
  • A low fidelity pediatric mannequin will be investigated for purchase.
  • Batteries will be replaced in all SON WOWs.
  • The 4th floor conference room LCD projector will be replaced and a speaker added.
  • Informational binders for Baby Hal and Noelle simulators will be created.
  • Improved communication between the SON and the Hospital regarding equipment changes and purchases, possibly through the Value Analysis committee will be pursued.
  • Equipment and hardware will be upgraded as assessed.
  • Adjunct online teaching/learning opportunities will be explored.
  • Appropriate faculty members will participate in continuing education with the use of simulation.
  • An environment for the Noelle simulator will be created.
  • Faculty will analyze test questions based on the point bisceral from Par-Score/Par-Test programs.
  • Faculty will independently post their data from par-Score to Par-Test.
  • Electronic testing will shift from HESI to Kaplan.
  • A voice synthesizer will be added to the simulation experience.
  • Faculty will express if they have the technology to teach the students current health care trends.
  • The SON website will be updated.
  • Faculty will be surveyed as to their technology needs and desires.
  • The committee will create opportunities to educate instructors and students as to new technology developments and possibilities.
