- Software and training needs will be determined and Spoon River College will be approached to provide training services.
- A faculty or staff member will attend a conference regarding technological trends in education.
- Improved communication between the SON and the Hospital regarding equipment changes and purchases, possibly through the Value Analysis committee will be pursued.
- Equipment and hardware will be upgraded as assessed.
- Adjunct online teaching/learning opportunities will be explored.
- Opportunities for faculty use of course web pages will be explored.
- An online application and method of payment will be investigated.
- A video tour of the School will be created.
- Faculty will participate in continuing education with the use of simulation.
- Faculty will express comfort using upgrades to Windows based products.
- Methods of protecting SON equipment and hardware during summer months and breaks will be investigated.
- Options to aggregate, analyze and communicate test data to students will be explored.
- The Sim Man environment will be upgraded.
- 20 simulation scenarios will be purchased for faculty use.
- A voice synthesizor will be added to the simulation experience.
- A strategy to decrease costs and improve efficiency of printing and copying throughout the School will be developed.
- A non-glare shade will be added to the computer lab for protection and comfort.
- A key pad will be added to the computer lab door to facilitate access for dorm students.
- Faculty will express if they have the technology to teach the students current health care trends.
- Plasma flat screen TVs will be evaluated to replace LCD projectors in the classroom.
- The SON website will be upgraded.
- A blog will be created for sharing technology tips, information and questions within the School.
- Podcasting will be explored as a method to support the curriculum.
- Faculty will be surveyed as to their technology needs and desires.
- The committee will create opportunities to education instructors and students as to new technology developments and possibilities.
